This special issue of Ergonomics is intended to focus on applications of existing theories, frameworks, and tools used to model complex, global systems to show how ergonomics/human factors have started to contribute to resolving global problems. Papers which provide empirical studies, field investigations, and practical applications will be prioritised for inclusion, but review articles, position papers, and commentaries that look at theoretical advancements on existing models, theories, and frameworks will also be considered.
